In view of the upsurge in fraudulent sales of face masks, Regional Crime Prevention Office of New Territories North (RCPO NTN), in partnership with Police Community Relations Offices in NTN and Senior Police Call members, mounted a crime prevention campaign in Yuen Long, Tai Po, Tuen Mun and the boundary area between February 17 and 28.

Officers of RCPO NTN designed a resealable bag with crime prevention messages, for storing face masks. During the campaign, resealable bags and crime prevention leaflets were distributed to remind members of the public to check the credibility of sellers and verify their identity before conducting any transactions.

To disseminate messages warning against face mask scams, Ms Celine Leung, a local actress, was invited to produce a video. Chief Inspector Law Suk-man of RCPO NTN expressed her gratitude for Ms Leung's assistance. The video will be publicised as widely as possible to enhance public awareness when purchasing face masks online.

The video is available on Police Public Page, YouTube Channel and Facebook. Readers may visit the following link to watch the video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qnvXicb9VkY).
