In order to enhance public awareness of telephone deception and to promote prevention methods, Regional Crime Prevention Office of Kowloon East (RCPO KE) has advertised anti-telephone deception messages between February and March by posting a billboard at the Hong Kong Island entrance/exit of the Cross-Harbour Tunnel, as well as putting up posters and stickers on the bodies and the back of seats of 100 buses running on different routes across the territory. The advertisements promote the "Anti-Scam Helpline 18222" of the Anti-Deception Coordination Centre and encourage the public to hang up, clarify and get help when suspicious telephone calls are received.

RCPO KE will continue to identify effective channels to inform the public about telephone deception trends and relevant prevention methods to prevent the public from falling victim to such scams.
