Earlier, the Police had offered to relinquish use of the Junior Police Call Permanent Activity Centre (JPC@Pat Heung) to the Government, so the premises could be used as a quarantine centre. The first phase of the conversion of the JPC@ Pat Heung has already been completed and the converted sections were officially handed over to the Department of Health (DH) on March 31 for quarantine purposes. In the first phase, four separate sections have been built, which can provide a total of 88 units.

In the second phase of conversion, an additional 120 modular houses will be built on the playground. Construction is expected to be completed by the end of April and the houses will then be handed over to the DH. The quarantine centre will be managed by the Civil Aid Service, while the Police will offer assistance.
