Commissioner Tang Ping-keung paid a visit to Traffic Kowloon West (T KW) Operational Base to conduct an open forum with frontline officers on March 19. During the forum, the Commissioner talked about the current situation while the officers shared their experiences in Operation TIDERIDER. The Commissioner expressed his gratitude for the officers’ professionalism and devotion to duty in the operation. He also took the opportunity to outline his work priorities: “Restore Order; Improve Competence; Empower Officers; Gather Support”.


Meanwhile, the officers talked about the difficulties they had faced in the operation while the Commissioner responded to the officers’ concerns on the operation and welfare issues. The Commissioner assured the officers that the Force would take care of their welfare needs as well as that of their family members. The officers felt encouraged by the Commissioner’s visit and hoped that the Force could stop violence and curb disorder under the Commissioner’s leadership and restore social order soon.
