Commissioner Tang Ping-keung visited Airport District (APTDIST) on July 29. He was briefed about the measures taken to tackle the latest operational challenges of the district including domestic terrorism, public order events as well as infiltration of arms and prohibited weapons. APTDIST Commander Ma Wai-hing also updated the progress of infrastructure development and use of technology on the Airport Island, and their implication for policing.


The Commissioner then met with a cross-section of officers and took the opportunity to express his gratitude to officers of Patrol Sub-unit 4 of APTDIST for their professionalism and excellent team work displayed during the arrest of a male on a departing plane on July 2, who was suspected of wounding a police officer at an illegal rally on July 1. Officers of APTDIST greatly appreciate the visit of the Commissioner and they are confident in the Force’s capability to restore public order under the Commissioner’s leadership.
