Between June and July, officers of the Regional Crime Prevention Office of Kowloon East (RCPO KE) visited a number of important facilities in the Region to raise stakeholders’ awareness of suspicious objects.

During the visits, security assessment was conducted with advice given on the security of the facilities. RCPO officers also provided training on the identification and initial handling of explosives and suspicious objects in accordance with the training package devised by the Inter-departmental Counter Terrorism Unit. Through mutual understanding of the respective roles and protocols in such incidents, the collaboration between the Force and relevant stakeholders has been enhanced.

The RCPO KE will continue to engage other community stakeholders to promote the message of “Stay Vigilant to Bombs”, thereby heightening the public’s vigilance against explosives and suspicious objects.
