The Counter Terrorism Response Unit (CTRU) and the Emergency Unit of Kowloon West (EU KW) conducted joint training at Fan Garden on August 28 to enhance the coordination capability and operational competence of officers.

During the training, CTRU officers shared ways of applying the concept of tactical medicine to treat the injured in critical incidents. The two units also conducted a drill simulating a police officer being injured while handling an armed robbery. EU KW and CTRU officers swiftly responded to the incident and formulated a sweeping plan. The officers eventually subdued all armed robbers and treated the injured at scene by applying the concept of tactical medicine. The joint training not only strengthened the cooperation between the two units, but also deepened the officers’ understanding of tactical medicine.
