In a bid to further expand the duty capacities of auxiliary officers of Eastern District (EDIST) and enhance their efficiency in traffic enforcement with the aid of advanced technology, EDIST provided training for 41 auxiliary officers on September 5 and 6 for conducting traffic enforcement against moving traffic offences by way of video recording.

The training programme covered legal foundation, equipment handling, recording procedures, evidence collection and court case studies. Each participant was required to go through a practical exercise and assessment in order to be qualified for the duties. They are the first batch of auxiliary officers joining the Mobile Video Team to carry out traffic enforcement within Hong Kong Island Region.

All trainees actively took part in the training. Despite the new and challenging task, they have great confidence in performing the duties. The training programme boosted auxiliary officers’ skills in taking traffic enforcement actions and strengthened their sense of belonging to the Force.
