“Project KEY” launched by Tsuen Wan District (TWDIST) offers an opportunity to members of the public and auxiliary officers who aspire to become regular police officers to enhance their knowledge of police work. In September, “Project KEY” organised a series of activities for mentees to experience the other side of routine police work.

Mentees joined officers of the Police Community Relations Office of TWDIST to distribute anti-crime leaflets and anti-epidemic supplies to the public in the district in order to raise their awareness of crime and deception prevention. Besides, some mentees were invited to return to their alma maters in the district to promote “Flipball”, a kind of new sports that TWDIST introduced to the schools, so that students could relax their mind and body by doing simple exercise in school or at home amid the epidemic.

In addition, mentees also visited Emergency Unit (EU) of New Territories South. EU officers not only briefed mentees on their daily duties, but also showed them their gear and demonstrated their tactics, displaying the professionalism of frontline officers.

Mentees Uria, Gary and Andy thanked TWDIST for arranging a series of activities and said that the activities had deepened their understanding about police work. They look forward to returning to their alma maters as regular police officers in future so as to promote anti-crime messages to their junior schoolmates and bring the Police and the community closer.
