As the elderly are susceptible to phone scams, the Regional Crime Prevention Office of Kowloon East (RCPO KE) conducted a series of anti-deception publicity campaigns in September in KE Region. Officers visited restaurants to hand out leaflets and share anti-telephone deception messages with elderly patrons so as to enhance their anti-scam awareness. Moreover, officers also joined hands with volunteers of community organisations and elderly care centres to distribute anti-epidemic supplies and food to the elderly. They also shared the latest anti-deception information with the elderly and volunteers in order to remind them not to fall prey to scams.
