On October 25, Cheung Chau Division (CCDIV) received a report about a snake being found near a hotel, which caused public safety concerns. CCDIV officers reached the scene immediately with appropriate equipment and contacted a snake catcher for assistance.

Upon arrival, a two-metre long python was located outside the hotel near a footpath. The officers set up cordon lines for crowd management in order to ensure public safety. As the snake catcher could not arrive at the scene right away, the officers decided to catch the snake after conducting a thorough assessment. The python was eventually caught and brought back to Cheung Chau Police Station. Members of the public at the scene appreciated the effort and courage of the officers.
