With a view to enhancing the operational capabilities of frontline commanders to perform duties at the District Operations Room (DOR) and handle public events, Shatin District (STDIST) has established a District Command Team which comprises 10 officers from the rank of Inspector to Chief Inspector and conducted a series of training workshops for the team.

During the first workshop on November 2, STDIST Commander Leung Tsz-kin introduced the roles and functions of DOR, stressed the importance of exercising effective command and control in public events, and shared his experience during Operation TIDERIDER.

The workshop enhanced the frontline commanders’ capabilities in assessing the ever-changing circumstances of public events, heightened their tactical awareness and strengthened their decision-making skills in overcoming the challenges in policing public events.
