Community members presented tapestry flags to Commander Wong Siu-hing, Deputy Commander Leung Kwok-wing and crime officers of Western District (WDIST) on October 28 in recognition of their professionalism displayed in the detection of multiple crime cases.


In a criminal damage case occurred in August 2020, several juveniles damaged a public light bus in Ap Lei Chau. Within 24 hours, District Anti-triad Squad of WDIST arrested nine culprits, among which three of them were charged.


In a burglary case reported in October 2020, bottles of red wine worth HK$520,000 were stolen from a house in Repulse Bay. Officers of District Investigation Team 1 of WDIST arrested the culprit on the same day of the report and recovered the majority of the stolen wine.


In a financial intermediary deception case happened last year, three victims were deceived a total of HK$1.7 million when applying for loans. Officers of District Crime Squad 2 of WDIST swiftly froze the culprits’ bank accounts, arrested five persons and recovered the money.
