The Cyber Security and Technology Crime Bureau (CSTCB) organised the first Technology Crime Investigation Course (TCIC) between November 23 and 27 for 24 inspectorate rank officers to further enhance their professional knowledge and develop their confidence and competence in the investigation of technology crimes.


The TCIC comprised a series of lectures and sharing sessions on the latest technological development in Hong Kong and the challenges ahead, which were presented by guest speakers from technology industry, legal profession and some experienced CSTCB officers. The course focused on the application of relevant laws, analysis of the Internet, types of malware, analysis of cyber intelligence, cryptocurrency investigation and techniques on digital evidence collection. During the course, the participants actively took part in scenario-based learning activities and group exercises.


At the end of the course, Chief Superintendent of CSTCB Law Yuet-wing encouraged the participants to continue to equip themselves with the latest know-how and use the knowledge acquired to enhance the Force’s capabilities in handling technology crime.
