Cheung Sha Wan Division (CSWDIV) and officers of the Lai Chi Kok Reception Centre (LCKRC) of the Correctional Services Department (CSD) jointly held a seminar on November 30. Three CSD speakers, namely Chief Officer (Penal Administration) Kwok Wan-chit, Principal Officer (Security) Au Hei-man and Officer (Security) Wong Ka-kit, introduced the CSD’s procedures of handling prisoners and detainees, the facilities of the LCKRC and their procedures of making reports to the Police, thereby enhancing police officers’ understanding of the work of the CSD. Acting Commander of Sham Shui Po District Cheung Wai-kee, Acting Divisional Commander of CSWDIV Tung Hei-man and supervisory officers of CSWDIV attended the seminar.

For CSWDIV officers who need to pay frequent visits to LCKRC, the seminar enabled them to learn more about the relevant arrangements. Police officers and the CSD representatives also took the opportunity to share their work experience and discuss cases on dangerous drugs and fighting among detainees. The question and answer session of the seminar deepened the participants’ understanding of the work procedures of both sides. District Operations Room used for handling large-scale operations by the Police was also introduced to the CSD officers.
