Commissioner Tang Ping-keung visited the Police Driving and Traffic Training Centre and Weapons Training Division at the Fanling Campus of the Police College on December 29, 2020.


Accompanied by Acting Director Ip Che-man and Deputy Director 1 Leung Shun of the Police College, the Commissioner was briefed on the latest development in police driving and traffic training as well as the current training situation and challenges ahead in respect of weapons training. The Commissioner boarded the four-wheel driving simulator to experience the scenario-based training technology and visited the tactical training facilities, during which he had interactive discussion with the training staff.


When meeting with a cross-section of staff, the Commissioner expressed his gratitude for the officers’ devotion to duty in police training, responded to questions in regard to a wide range of issues and explained the Force’s future direction in policing. He also wished officers good health and encouraged them to overcome challenges with professionalism so as to live up to the Force’s motto of “Serving Hong Kong with Honour, Duty and Loyalty”.


On January 12, 2021, the Commissioner paid a visit to the contact-tracing command centre at Kai Tak Community Hall to learn about the work of police officers and express his gratitude to the colleagues for their contribution to the fight against COVID-19. The Commissioner said the Force and other disciplined services departments, including the Immigration Department and the Customs and Excise Department, would spare no effort to assist the Department of Health in implementing anti-epidemic measures and tracing close contacts of confirmed cases.
