The Information Systems Wing (ISW) has always strived to promote “Digital Policing” and is dedicated to exploring secure measures and technology in supporting the Force’s Strategic Direction of “Embracing the use of technology for policing in the digital age”.

In order to protect police officers’ data, the ISW will enhance the security of remote access services via implementing One-Time-Password (OTP) – Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) on POINT from Home, Protected POINT from Home and Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) in February.

The new login process will be similar to that of common e-Banking services. On top of inputting username (UI) and password, an OTP is also required to be inputted. The OTP will be sent to users’ pre-registered mobile phone number via SMS.

The 2FA Registration was commenced on January 15. To enable 2FA for accessing POINT from Home, officers are invited to register their personal mobile phone number (mandatory) and/or email (optional) via Departmental Portal (DP).
