With a view to promoting healthy lifestyle and encouraging Force members to do more exercise, Sports Unit organised “Running Man@PHQ” event from January 18 to 29.


Participants could choose their own running routes as well as start and end time during lunch time. The event had two categories, namely “Flying Miles” and “Jogging Data”. Participants could redeem a souvenir after accumulating a specified number of kilometres or days of running. Over 400 officers from the Police Headquarters participated in the event and accumulated a total of 8 900 kilometres.


A total of 23 units/formations also joined the event, including Hong Kong Island Region, Kowloon East Region, Kowloon West Region, New Territories South Region, New Territories North Region, Police College’s School of Foundation Training, Police Tactical Unit (PTU) Headquarters, Tseung Kwan O District, Sau Mau Ping District, Wong Tai Sin District, Kowloon City District, Yau Tsim District, Central District, Western District, Yuen Long District, Shatin District, Tai Po District, Kwai Tsing District, Tuen Mun District, Border District, Lantau District, Airport District and PTU Yankee Company. To attract more colleagues to join the event, the participating units/formations designed different running programmes for their staff according to the characteristics of their respective units/formations. The activity was well-received and over 2 600 officers participated in the running programmes of various units or formations. Sports Unit encourages Force members to exercise regularly so as to maintain their physical fitness to serve society.
