Between December 2020 and February 2021, more than 100 public events with street counters were held in Mong Kok. In view of the latest trend, Commander of Mong Kok District (MKDIST) cum Force Knowledge Management Champion (Good Practices) Ng Chi-chung conducted a sharing session on the handling of public events at Mong Kok Police Station on March 5, 2021, with officers from Operations Wing, Police Tactical Unit (PTU) and Emergency Unit of Kowloon West Region, as well as officers from the PTU Headquarters and the Police College’s School of Foundation Training participated.


The sharing session aimed at introducing the good practices and exchanging experiences on handling public events with street counters. Representatives from operations, administration and crime divisions of MKDIST shared the strategies, tactics, case study and points to note on evidence collection. They also made use of a real case scenario to enhance the participants’ understanding of the effective ways to handle this type of public events. Mr Ng also took the opportunity to express his wholehearted gratitude to all units for their enormous support in policing public events in the district.
