A group of students and teaching staff of the Department of Journalism and Communication of Hong Kong Shue Yan University visited the Police Headquarters to exchange views with officers of the Police Public Relations Branch (PPRB) on April 26.

Chief Superintendent of PPRB Kwok Ka-chuen led officers to introduce the work of the Strategic Communication Bureau, the Media Liaison and Communication Bureau, the Information and Publicity Bureau and the Force Media Liaison Cadre. He also presented the Force’s public relations strategies, as well as the difficulties and challenges faced by the Force under the new media ecology. The students and teaching staff raised questions on various media related issues and PPRB officers responded proactively to their concerns. Both parties took the opportunity to deepen mutual understanding and analyse the challenges facing the Force.

The Force values every opportunity to engage with the media and young generation. The visit demonstrated the Force’s dedication to enhancing mutual understanding with journalism students and building up long-term cooperation with them through communication.
