Support Wing

In order to enhance Force members’ understanding on vaccination, Support Wing invited Senior Medical and Health Officer (Special Duty) from the Department of Health, Dr To Ki-wai, to share valuable knowledge and evidence-based information on COVID-19 vaccines on May 13. Dr To also addressed the participants’ concerns arising from the common misconceptions which might give rise to vaccine hesitancy.

In early May, various senior police officers led by example and encouraged frontline officers to participate in the vaccination programme. Furthermore, Support Wing will continue to arrange group bookings for officers to receive vaccinations at Community Vaccination Centres at different locations across Hong Kong.

Tsuen Wan District

In the past few months, officers from Tsuen Wan District (TWDIST) and the Police Tactical Unit assisted the government in enforcing “restriction-testing declaration” in different restricted areas in accordance with the Prevention and Control of Disease (Compulsory Testing for Certain Persons) Regulation (Cap. 599J) to cordon off the areas to facilitate compulsory testing for the residents. Officers of the Police Community Relations Office of TWDIST also provided assistance to the residents and referred those in need to the relevant departments for follow-up actions in a timely manner.

Recently, in view of the threats posed by the mutant strain, residents in a restricted area were sent to a quarantine centre for mandatory quarantine. During the operation, officers showed care and compassion to the residents and this fully demonstrated the Force’s commitment to serving Hong Kong.
