To celebrate the opening of the new Kowloon East (KE) Regional Headquarters Complex, a competition was held to invite officers to design a new logo for the Region. Entries could be submitted individually or as a team by officers.

The competition attracted over 60 entries. The adjudication panel selected three designs as the Gold, Silver and Bronze awards based on their visual and aesthetic quality, creativity and originality, and the effectiveness in portraying the significance of the Region. The Gold Award design would become the new logo of the Region.

On April 14, Regional Commander of KE Lui Kam-ho presented certificates to the seven winners at KE Regional Headquarters.
