On May 22, Deputy Commissioner (Operations) (DCP OPS) Siu Chak-yee inspected a passing-out parade of 54 graduates as the Reviewing Officer at the Hong Kong Auxiliary Police Force (HKAPF) Headquarters. The graduates included seven Station Sergeant (Auxiliary) promotees, 21 Sergeant (Auxiliary) promotees and 26 Recruit Police Constables (Auxiliary).

In his speech, DCP OPS praised auxiliary officers for their devotion to safeguarding law and order, and supporting regular officers wholeheartedly, particularly the graduates from the Basic Training Course who joined the HKAPF after a turbulent time in Hong Kong. He lauded auxiliary officers for their dedication to performing different duties, including routine patrol duties, large-scale public events, emergency incidents and volunteer activities, fully demonstrating the spirit of serving Hong Kong with honour, duty and loyalty. He took great pride in the professionalism of the HKAPF. He hoped that the graduates would continue to act as a bridge between the Force and the community, promote community engagement and contribute to society through life-on-life interaction.

Representatives from the Federations of Parent-teacher Associations (FPTAs) also attended the passing-out parade to gain a better understanding of the work of auxiliary officers. They took the opportunity to meet with senior management of the Force to share their views on various youth-related issues. DCP OPS expressed his gratitude to the parents for joining the event and emphasised their vital role in helping young people cultivate positive values and strengthen law-abiding awareness.
