Commissioner Tang Ping-keung, Director of Architectural Services Ms Winnie Ho and Fan Garden Contractor, Director of Shui On Construction Company Limited Mr David Chan, officiated at the handover ceremony of Fan Garden Police Quarters at Fan Leng Lau Road on June 3. During the ceremony, former Fan Garden residents shared their photos and anecdotes of the old quarters. A magic show and a lion dance performance were also staged at the ceremony.

Fan Garden has been redeveloped into five 29-storey to 31-storey blocks, providing a total of 1 184 units, including 180 “F” Grade units and 1 004 “G” Grade units. In order to enhance the development of the quarters and better meet the needs of residents, Fan Garden is the first quarters to have established a working group with staff representatives. As a trial scheme, Block 5 of Fan Garden is also the first Junior Police Officers (JPO) quarters allowing officers to keep retired police dogs.

After the ceremony, the guests were led by officers of the Police Quartering Division to visit quarters units and facilities. They expected that more well-equipped quarters would be built in the near future to ease the shortage of JPO Married Quarters.
