Between May 27 and June 23, Railway District (RAILDIST) organised workshops on Immediate Tactical Intervention (ITI) for each of the five Regional Emergency Units (EUs) for the first time. The workshops aimed at strengthening frontline officers’ ITI capabilities and enhance their knowledge of the railway environment.

The workshops outlined the key points of handling terrorist attack and emergency incidents in the railway system, the characteristics of stations, precautions to be taken when applying tactics, etc. With the assistance of Mass Transit Railway Corporation Limited, the workshops were conducted at MTR stations, in order to increase officers’ operational safety as well as tactical awareness and decision-making capabilities in the railway environment. During each workshop, a joint exercise was conducted to enhance interoperability between the EUs and the Railway Response Team.
