Commissioner Siu Chak-yee visited the Hong Kong Auxiliary Police Headquarters on July 12 and presented the CP’s Unit Commendation to the Hong Kong Auxiliary Police Force (HKAPF) for its exemplary performance during Operation TIDERIDER. It was the first CP’s Unit Commendation awarded to HKAPF since its establishment in 1914.


During the ceremony, the Commissioner lauded HKAPF for its contribution in upholding the national security and the rule of law, assisting in the restoration of public order during Operation TIDERIDER and providing strong support for regular officers. The Commissioner also thanked auxiliary officers for choosing to do what is right, working shoulder to shoulder with regular officers in their spare time, and serving the public and contributing to society in the most professional manner in both turbulent times and daily policing work. The Commissioner also expressed deep appreciation to Commandant of HKAPF Yang Joe-tsi for leading auxiliary officers over the past few years to fully support the Force, embodying the spirit of “Serving Hong Kong with Honour, Duty and Loyalty”.
