The Commissioner visited Task Force Sub-unit officers at Tuen Mun and Yuen Long Police Stations on July 3. The Commissioner outlined the Force’s policing objectives and discussed with officers the challenges they faced when performing frontline duties. Apart from expressing his appreciation to officers for their devotion to duty, the Commissioner also encouraged officers to continue to discharge their duties in a professional manner in order to garner public support and confidence in the Force.

During his visit to the Emergency Unit Kowloon East on July 10, the Commissioner emphasised the importance of internal communication and expressed his concern about officers’ safety and readiness in responding to terrorist attacks. He also responded to officers’ questions regarding equipment, operations, promotion and welfare.

On July 24, the Commissioner visited Tsuen Wan Police Station and was briefed by Commander of Task Force Sub-unit of Tsuen Wan District Yeung Yan-ning on the crime trend, community policing and the development of the district. When meeting with frontline officers, the Commissioner pointed out that the professionalism of officers could demonstrate the positive image of the Force. He also expressed his gratitude to officers for remaining steadfast at their posts despite the risk of “lone-wolf” terrorist attack and reminded them to pay attention to their safety at work.
