On July 15, nearly 100 teachers and students from the St. Paul’s Co-educational College (SPCC) paid a visit to the Marine Regional Headquarters in Sai Wan Ho. The activity was organised by SPCC alumni, who are police ambassadors of “Project LEGACY”, and co-hosted by the Police Community Relations Office of Central District.

During the visit, the students learnt about the equipment of the Marine Police and the nature of cases that Marine officers encounter on a daily basis. Apart from experiencing a simulated sea rescue through the Police Launch Simulation System, they also boarded a police launch to watch a demonstration of an anti-smuggling interception exercise performed by Small Boat Division and its Unmanned Aircraft Systems Team. Marine Police also introduced the Hong Kong Sea Cadet Corps to SPCC’s teachers to provide another option of extra-curricular activities for students.

The visit enabled the teachers and students to better understand the uniqueness and the dangerous nature of Marine Police’s duties. On behalf of SPCC, Principal Mr Poon Siu-chi expressed appreciation to the Marine Police for their tireless efforts in safeguarding Hong Kong waters.
