The fourth Cross-disciplined Forces Training Programme for Ethnic Minority Youth was held on August 23. Chief Superintendent of the Police Public Relations Branch (PPRB) Kwok Ka-chuen officiated at the opening ceremony of the programme.

The programme was organised by PPRB and supported by disciplined forces including the Correctional Services Department, the Customs and Excise Department, the Fire Services Department, the Government Flying Service, the Immigration Department, the Auxiliary Medical Service and the Civil Aid Service. A total of 69 ethnic minority youngsters aged between 13 and 19 took part in the training at the Hong Kong Award for Young People Jockey Club Duke of Edinburgh Training Camp in Lam Tsuen, Tai Po.

The programme provided disciplinary, physical and team-building training to ethnic minority youngsters to help them integrate into society and cultivate positive values. Representatives of disciplined forces introduced the scope of their work and the entry requirements for various posts and encouraged the participants to strive for their goals.

Apart from taking part in the ropes course challenge in groups and experiencing the recruits’ physical fitness tests, the participants also joined the “PH Race” to enhance their fitness and team spirit. The Narcotics Division of the Security Bureau also conducted a seminar to disseminate anti-drug messages to the participants.

Since 2018, the programme has been held biannually in July and December. The next programme will be held this December.
