The Senior Police Call (SPC) Docent Scheme was launched in 2018, to strengthen SPC members’ understanding of police buildings and landmarks with historical and cultural values so as to pass on the knowledge to other members in various police districts. Currently, over 110 members have successfully completed the docent training offered by the School of Professional and Continuing Education of the University of Hong Kong and the Antiquities and Monuments Office respectively.

In July, the Police Public Relations Branch arranged for over 100 SPC docents to visit Border District (BORDIST) and Tai Po District, during which they toured the refurbished MacIntosh Fort at Pak Fu Shan in Ta Kwu Ling and the old Sheung Shui Police Station, which is a Grade II historical building. BORDIST Commander Tsui Sheung-yee also joined the visit and encouraged the participants to assist their respective District Police Community Relations Offices in organising guided tours to benefit more SPC members. The visit deepened the SPC docents’ knowledge of police history in New Territories North (NTN) Region and the latest developments in the neighbouring Shenzhen area.
