Marine Region spares no effort in developing closer ties with youngsters through various engagement initiatives. Following the appointment of Superintendent of Project Implementation Team of Marine Region Yuen Ching-fong as the Commanding Officer of the Hong Kong Sea Cadet Corps (HKSCC) in March 2021, Council members and senior officers of HKSCC visited the Marine Regional Headquarters in May to strengthen their bonding with Marine Region, and to explore collaboration opportunities to develop youngsters into contributing citizens with positive values.

Between July and August, Marine Region arranged for HKSCC members to visit the Marine Regional Training Launch, Small Boat Division and the Unmanned Aircraft Systems Team, and experience the Police Launch Simulation System. Marine Region also arranged for HKSCC members to visit the Police Dog Unit Headquarters in Sha Ling through the Animal Watchers Programme to interact with police dogs and their handlers. In addition, a Police Children Sea Cadet Corps, the Cougartek Unit, was formed under the Police Arts Council on September 1.

In future, Marine Region will continue to foster collaboration with HKSCC to help youngsters develop positive values and civic awareness.
