The Crime Prevention Bureau (CPB), in collaboration with six Regional Crime Prevention Offices (RCPOs), organised a series of publicity activities under the theme of “Safe Living” from August to September to combat burglary, robbery and quick cash crimes.

‘Safe Living Month’ promotional truck

Between August 15 and 28, the “Safe Living Month” promotional truck travelled around Hong Kong to disseminate anti-burglary, anti-robbery and anti-deception messages. CPB and RCPOs, in collaboration with District Fight Crime Committees and members of the Senior Police Call and the Junior Police Call, distributed publicity materials to members of the public and invited them to visit the truck to experience simulated scenarios to understand what actions should be taken upon witnessing a crime. Members of the public were encouraged to call the Police immediately when they spot any suspicious person or witness a crime.

Crime prevention publicity clips

CPB, assisted by the Police Public Relations Branch, produced three crime prevention publicity clips on the themes of anti-burglary and anti-robbery. The clips were released on the Force’s social media platforms in August and September to enhance crime prevention awareness of the public.

Territory-wide crime prevention publicity activities

Officers of RCPOs organised a number of crime prevention activities and seminars for residents, property management and security personnel in their respective regions to provide security advice, including the installation of smart security systems and keeping watch on suspicious persons or vehicles, etc. Members of the public, property management and security personnel responded positively and they will continue to join hands with the Police to fight crime.
