The Police Public Relations Branch (PPRB) organised a “Police Facebook Live Training Day” for 30 members of the Police Social Media Live Team on September 17. Apart from sharing with team members the objectives and challenges of conducting live broadcasts on the front line, PPRB officers also arranged for the team members to take part in a simulated live broadcasting exercise.

In response to Operation TIDERIDER, the Social Media Communication Section of PPRB established the Social Media Live Team in 2019 to conduct live broadcasts of large-scale public events, so as to provide members of the public with another perspective to better understand the actual scenarios encountered by frontline officers, enhance transparency in police work and increase public confidence in the Force.

Social Media Live Team is made up of officers from PPRB and five Police Regions to assist the Force in conducting live broadcasts via social media platforms. PPRB will continue to organise training days on a regular basis to enhance officers’ abilities in handling filming equipment and conducting live broadcasts.
