Between January 12 and 13, the Police Public Engagement Office (PPEO) of the Major Incidents Bureau conducted the Public Events Engagement Course for officers from Regional Public Engagement Offices, Police Community Relations Offices and Event Management Offices, in order to enhance their knowledge of the latest socio-political dynamics and political groups.


Guest lecturers from the Cyber Security and Technology Crime Bureau and the Psychological Services Group were invited to share their skills in applying technology to gather intelligence of public events and the techniques of emotion management and effective engagement respectively. Former President of the Legislative Council Mr Tsang Yok-sing was also invited to share his views on the latest political dynamics after the Legislative Council Election and the challenges to be encountered by the Government and the Force.


At the closing ceremony, Assistant Commissioner (Operations) Chan Joon-sun shared his views on active community engagement and presented certificates to the participants. He encouraged officers to get themselves well-equipped for meeting future policing challenges.
