The Hong Kong Auxiliary Police Force (HKAPF) plays an important role in supporting frontline policing and internal security, upholding national security and ensuring the prosperity and stability of Hong Kong in partnership with regular officers. In order to provide continuous and sufficient frontline support to regular officers, the Auxiliary Support Bureau (AUX SUP Bureau) has been striving to engage with various community sectors and conducted a series of publicity activities to boost the recruitment of auxiliary officers and demonstrate the positive image of the Force.

On December 12, 2021, AUX SUP Bureau organised an Auxiliary Recruitment and Experience Day at the HKAPF Headquarters. The event attracted 170 participants, including members of a local youth uniformed group and their families, members of the Police Mentorship Programme as well as friends of graduates of the Auxiliary Undergraduate Scheme (AUS). Activities of the event included a presentation on the enrolment requirements of HKAPF, a display of equipment, a resistance control demonstration, a foot drill performance, a mock physical test and a sharing session conducted by serving auxiliary officers.

On December 21, 2021, AUX SUP Bureau organised an Experience Sharing and Recruitment Talk at the HKAPF Headquarters for members of the Lawyers HK. Officers introduced the recruitment of auxiliary officers, their major duties and other related information, and led participants to tour the training facilitates of the HKAPF Headquarters. Through the event, the participants gained a better understanding of HKAPF and they were deeply impressed by the determination of auxiliary officers to spend their spare time to serve the community and maintain law and order. A number of participants also submitted applications for joining HKAPF on the spot.

Since December 2021, AUX SUP Bureau has commenced a series of publicity initiatives by placing recruitment advertisements on different platforms, including a local newspaper, online platforms, advertisement boards at bus shelters near local universities and locations with high pedestrian flow, in order to reach out to more citizens and attract university students to join HKAPF through AUS.
