The Junior Police Officers Division (JPO Division) of the Personnel Wing endeavours to enhance the professional knowledge and skills of the mentees of the Development Programme for Junior Officers with Potential to foster their career development through various means including thematic seminars, secondment and mentorship guidance, etc.


In 2021, the JPO Division launched a new series of sharing sessions, named “LETS” (Leadership Experience Towards Success) and expanded some of the events under the series to all JPOs. Between May and October 2021, a total of seven sharing sessions of “LETS TALK” and mock interview workshops of “LETS MOCK” were conducted. Speakers with different backgrounds, including a Force-entry inspector, former directors of Extended Interview and a former member of Final Interview Board of Probationary Inspector recruitment exercise as well as former members of Force Promotion Assessment Team (Police Constable to Sergeant) conducted in-depth sharing sessions on their experience and interview skills of Probationary Inspector recruitment and selection interview for the promotion to Sergeant. The sharing sessions were broadcast live to allow more officers to join the events. Since the launch of “LETS”, more than 700 officers have participated in the events. The participants were proactive in interacting with the speakers and found the sharing sessions practical and inspiring.


The “LETS” series has enhanced participants’ interview skills and increased their understanding of the roles and responsibilities of a leader. Stay tuned for more seminars under the programme.
