To tie in with the activity theme of “Communing with Nature” in the fourth quarter of 2021, the Animal Watchers Programme (AWP) arranged for 60 AWP Captains and Watchers to visit the Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden (KFBG) on December 11, 2021, to enhance their understanding of the biodiversity and habitats of wildlife in Hong Kong.

Participants joined a guided tour to visit the facilities of KFBG and the Wildlife Animal Rescue Centre to learn about the plight and needs of wild animals that were rescued from different risks, such as injury, abandonment and pet trade. The tour deepened the participants’ understanding of the characteristics of local animals and enabled them to better perform their roles in protecting animals at the community level.
