Between January 24 and 28, members of the Working Group on Chinese Foot Drill of the Police Tactical Unit Headquarters (PTU HQ), including Chief Inspector Jack Wang, Station Sergeant Butt Wang-tat and Sergeant Wong Men-son, provided training on Chinese-style flag raising to 24 members of the two Operations Contingents (OPS CON), namely X-Ray and Delta Companies. Upon completion of the training, the trainees were appointed as members of the PTU HQ Chinese-style Flag Raising Party.

The training introduced basic movements of Chinese foot drill, including static movements, marching, rifle drill and ceremonial drill. The training enhanced officers’ ability to perform Chinese foot drill movements, boosted their perseverance and sense of belonging, and projected a positive and professional image of the Force. The 24 newly trained Chinese-style Flag Raising Party members and the PTU HQ Ceremonial Drill Cadre members will perform Chinese-style flag raising and guard-of-honour ceremonies in future passing-out parades of PTU HQ.
