“Profession Impossible—Specialised Units Selection Experience” is the first TV reality show disclosing the selection process of the Force’s specialised units. Eight artistes were invited to experience the annual joint specialised units basic selection for the Special Duties Unit, the Airport Security Unit, the Counter Terrorism Response Unit and the Railway Response Team. Members of the public can better understand the highly demanding entry requirements of the specialised units through the show. Not only exceptional physical fitness is required, incomparable determination, a sense of mission and relentless perseverance are also crucial qualities.
As a show striving to genuinely showcase the Force’s professionalism and the arduous basic selection process of the specialised units, artistes underwent various stringent physical fitness tests, boxing fights, memory and observation tests, team-building training, and a wide range of simulated policing work in the show, thereby enhancing public confidence in the Force.
The show took over nine months to complete production, from developing concepts, conducting research and market survey, liaison and coordination, on-site shooting to post-production, etc. This would not have been possible without the full support and assistance of all relevant units.
