Project Gemstone of Yau Tsim District (YTDIST), together with Project Nova of Correctional Services Department (CSD), held a life-planning workshop for non-ethnic Chinese (NEC) youngsters on June 12. At Ma Hang Prison, more than a dozen NECs participated in “Rehabilitation Pioneer Project - Mission in Prison”. Subsequently, two graduates of Project Gemstone, namely Senior Inspector of Regional Crime Unit of Kowloon West Gimandeep Singh and CSD officer Saleha Sahar Rani Hussain, unsparingly shared their experience with participants who aspired to join disciplinary forces. Guests attending the event included Commissioner Siu Chak-yee, Commissioner of Correctional Services Mr Wong Kwok-hing, District Commander of YTDIST Yeung Man-pun, Chairman of YTDIST Junior Police Call Honorary President Council (JPCHPC) Mr Yip Chung-lun and the Presidents of the YTDIST JPCHPC. The guests encouraged the participants to hammer away at fulfilling their aspirations. The event allowed members of the two Projects to better understand the work of law enforcement officers.

Stepping into the tenth anniversary of YTDIST Project Gemstone, 26 graduates have successfully joined various disciplinary forces, including the Police Force, CSD, Fire Services Department and Customs and Excise Department.
