To combat pickpocketing more effectively, Crime Kowloon West Headquarters (CRM KW) held a series of sharing sessions in May and June. Several serving/retired officers experienced in catching pickpockets were invited to give young frontline officers tips in this respect.

Through online and physical sessions in various police stations in Kowloon West Region, the guest speakers shared with the frontline officers their years of pragmatic experience in anti-pocketing, including observation and monitoring skills, spotting the demeanours and characteristics of pickpockets, as well as other tell-tale signs. The speakers also shared their experience in combatting burglaries, including practical tips about what to look out for whilst conducting ambush observation and physical search. These enthusiastically welcomed sessions attracted over 340 frontline officers from the Region.

Superintendent (Administration and Support) of CRM KW Cheng Chun-kit thanked the guest speakers and hoped that young officers could learn from their predecessors in the sharing sessions anti-pickpocketing techniques to enhance their capabilities in catching pickpockets.
