The Public Relations Wing (PR Wing) has recently published a comic book titled “好市民獎勵計劃 – 有名英雄” (literally “Good Citizen Award scheme – named heroes”) and a booklet titled “青少年罪行誌 • 師長攻略” (literally “A chronicle of juvenile crimes – Strategies for teachers and parents”) to promote legal awareness to citizens of different age groups. The comic collection is a compilation of 10 true stories of Good Citizen awardees drawn by 10 cartoonists in the realistic style of local comics in the 1970s and 1980s. The book aims to commend and affirm the contributions made by the winners of the Good Citizen Award in preventing and fighting crime and saving lives. It also conveys positive energy to the readers. The latter booklet lists the relevant laws, court rulings, prevention methods, support services and other information on five common juvenile crimes for the education sectors and parents to use in crime prevention education. At the same time, the signs of behavioral deviations of young people and the teachers’ strategy for dealing with related problems are specially provided to help stakeholders understand the rebellion of young people and deal with it as soon as possible.

Different thematic publications published by PR Wing aim to tell good police stories in an all-round way on different platforms. By promoting its information and genuine stories of its officers to the media and the public, the Force will enable the public to know that police work covers a wide range of aspects which are closely related to their life, and that the Force will always uphold the professional spirit of caring for the community and serving the public wholeheartedly.

PR Wing has also published OffBeat special editions titled “戰疫” (literally “Fighting the epidemic”) and “Guarding our City with Faith - Police Review for 25th Anniversary of the Establishment of HKSAR” (Guarding Our City) to summarise the police’s efforts in fighting the epidemic and different aspects of police work in the past 25 years. The public have responded enthusiastically to the publication of these special issues. In addition to requests for printed copies, the number of online views of the electronic version increased significantly, which fully demonstrates the public’s support for the Force. The English version of the special issue of Guarding Our City will be available in September.
