The Secretary for Security Mr Tang Ping-keung and 13 officers from the Security Bureau, accompanied by Commissioner Siu Chak-yee, visited the Police Tactical Unit Headquarters (PTU HQs) on August 19 to have a better understanding of PTU’s most recent developments.


Commandant PTU HQs Mok Hing-wing and the teaching staff briefed the delegation on PTU’s latest development, including the formation and equipment of the internal security platoon as well as specialised vehicles like the Armoured Sabertooth, specialised crowd management vehicle and tactical bus. Demonstrations on tactics and use of force for handling public disorder situation were also made by officers of PTU HQs. The visitors boarded the Sabertooth and tactical bus to experience the operational effectiveness and comfort of the vehicles.


After the series of briefing and demonstration, members of the Security Bureau delegation had better understanding of PTU’s development and were impressed by its spirit in keeping up with the times.
