Commissioner Siu Chak-yee represented the Force to attend the Hong Kong Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) for Special Olympics Kick-off Ceremony held at the Hong Kong Scout Centennial Building on September 25. Together with Secretary for Security Mr Tang Ping-keung and representatives of other law enforcement agencies, the Commissioner hosted the kick-off ceremony and passed the “Flame of Hope” torch to the Chairman of the Police Sports Council Lui Kam-ho in the event to symbolise the passing of Special Olympics spirit to the athletes of the Force.

The annual event was organised by the Hong Kong Special Olympics to raise funds for supporting athletes with intellectual disabilities to take part in the Special Olympics Games worldwide. Due to the pandemic, participants of the 2022 LETR may complete 3.5 km along a route of their choice between September 25 and November 24.

The Force raised over $0.79 million out of a total donation of about $1.6 million last year. Your continuous vehement participation in this meaningful event this year to spread the spirit of LETR throughout the Districts is most welcome.
