A recognition ceremony was held for Operation Breakthrough at the Marine Regional Headquarters on the night of November 24 to thank various sectors and volunteers of the community for their massive support. Executive Director cum Regional Commander of Marine Region David Jordan presented certificates of appreciation to supporting social organisations and over 80 volunteers to commend their support for extensive programmes.

In his speech, Executive Director thanked all for their active involvement. As many youngsters have lost confidence in the Force, Operation Breakthrough plays an even more important role. The Force will remain steadfast in the face of such challenges by positively interacting and communicating with youngsters to provide youth at risk with an all-round understanding of the Force to change their perception and attitude towards policing work so as to rebuild social harmony. Executive Director and the committee members believe that Operation Breakthrough will provide its young participants with the opportunity to achieve positive developments and become a better person.

Established by the Force members 26 years ago as a charity organisation, Operation Breakthrough now runs several sports programmes.
