The Force Media Liaison Cadre (FMLC) conducted a review on the establishment of the secondary duty cadre and launched another round of recruitment and selection exercise to meet operation needs between September and December in 2022. The strength of FMLC has now been adjusted from 310 to 240, with 64 new recruits. The cadre will keep providing media handling support for frontline units.

30 cadre representatives attended the FMLC Appointment Ceremony on January 6, 2023. Assistant Commissioner (Public Relations) (PR) Chan Tung presented appointment letters to cadre members. In his speech, Assistant Commissioner (PR) welcomed the new members and recognised the work of FMLC. He expected FMLC members to maintain their professionalism in media facilitation and assist in building a constructive partnership with the media.

The PR Wing will keep serving as a bridge between the Force and the media and deploying FMLC members to facilitate media reporting and maintain the Force’s image of professionalism.
