The National Security Department (NSD), collaborating with Offbeat and the Police Painting and Calligraphy Club (PPCC), held NScript New Year in Calligraphy at the Police Headquarters (PHQ) and the Police Sports and Recreation Club (PSRC) between January 10 and 18 to express gratitude to officers’ contribution to the society and celebrate the Lunar New Year. Commissioner Siu Chak-yee, together with Deputy Commissioner (National Security) Lau Chi-wai and Director of National Security Kan Kai-yan officiated at the opening ceremony of the event at PHQ on January 10.

Officers may write phrases and/or sentences to commend the Force or express blessings of Lunar New Year, with either a traditional writing brush on a red paper or with an electronic writing brush on the “smart calligraphy desk”. They can take away their handwritten or printout scripts. Members of PPCC also demonstrated and rendered assistance on the spot. The event attracted good response from over a thousand participants.
