The Force attaches much importance to talent management and has always been committed to attracting high-calibre candidates through various policies and measures. Seeing that many auxiliary officers intend to join the regular service after engaging in policing duties, the Human Resources Branch (HRB), Auxiliary Support Bureau and Hong Kong Police College (HKPC) are piloting the Auxiliary Selected Appointment Programme (ASAP), through which auxiliary officers at all ranks can join the regular service as police constables after completing the selection process.

HRB and HKPC organised two physical and online briefings on January 16 and 19, attended by around 100 regular and auxiliary police officers. The briefings hosted respectively by Superintendent of Recruitment Division (RECDIV) Chan Kit-fung and Superintendent of HKPC Chiu Wai-ming covered the background, selection process, training requirement and application method of ASAP. The application deadline is February 17 and the details have been posted on the Force NoticeBoard.
