Yau Tsim District (YTDIST) officers, together with 25 ethnic minority (EM) student volunteers of Project Gemstone, set up information booths at three different locations in Tsim Sha Tsui during the two countdown events on December 24 and 31, 2022 respectively to brief the public on traffic arrangements and distribute promotional souvenirs for crime prevention. The activities enabled the EM students to experience frontline policing duties and advocated collaboration between the police and the public in preventing crime. Commissioner Siu Chak-yee, Regional Commander of Kowloon West Rupert Dover and District Commander of YTDIST Yeung Man-pun came to the scene to show their support for the student volunteers, praising the students for their active participation in social services and encouraging them to safeguard Hong Kong together in the future.
