Upon invitation of Kowloon West Region (KW), security managers from 52 member-hotels of the Hong Kong Hotels Association (HKHA) located in the Region attended a security meeting on February 7. In his speech at the meeting, Regional Commander of KW Rupert Dover (RC KW) thanked the industry for their participation in Project VanGUARD (hotel) and providing information proactively for the Force to prevent and detect crimes. Subsequently, he presented certificates of appreciation to 16 hotel staff.


Superintendent of Inter-departmental Counter Terrorism Unit Leung Ho-ming talked about “safe community” at the meeting. Superintendent of Crime KW Cheng Chun-kit explained how criminal intelligence was handled. Chief inspector of Regional Crime Unit of KW Lee Ka-wai analysed how the hotel industry could help the Force combat vice activities in hotels. Chief Inspector of Tsim Sha Tsui Division Mak Chung-kit briefed on road closure arrangement during public order events and communications with hotel industry. The participants actively expressed their opinions and discussed the direction of future cooperation with the Force.


Before the end of the meeting, the Convener of the Security Committee of HKHA Mr Lai Hin-wing presented a souvenir to RC KW to thank KW for its long-term cooperation with HKHA.
